Washington D.C. is America’s political center. Constructed on the city’s highest point Capitol Hill, the Congress building is the symbol of Washington. The White House is the office and residence of American Presidents. The largest building in Washington D.C. is the Pentagon across the Potomac River, which houses U.S. Department of Defense. Next to Capitol Hill is the Washington Monument, where visitors can take the elevator up to the top for a bird’s eye view of the city. Jefferson Memorial and Lincoln Memorial are famous memorials in the States.
